Joe studied Business Studies alongside German for 4 years at Bournemouth University, where he attained a 2:1. During the 3rd year of the course, he worked in Germany for a year on placement as part of the programme. He lived in Stuttgart in South Germany, working for IBM as a Marketing Intern. During his time in Germany, he earned a sense of global awareness and appreciation of diverse culture. He also proudly managed to survive the Munich Oktoberfest.

Joe has many interests including music, playing acoustic and electric guitar, trying to kite surf (and nearly drowning), watching films, supporting a little-known team called Chelsea, going to gigs and playing in a Sunday League football team as possibly the worst ever centre-back this country has ever seen.
